A community event calendar is one way that the Brookings CVB promotes both visitor and local events happening in Brookings. Every month they create a poster and distribute it throughout Brookings to gas stations, hotels, attractions, restaurants, the SDSU campus, etc. As the month changes, so do the dates and events on each poster. 

 

The CVB asked us to help create this year’s poster. They have struggled in the past with making a poster that is appealing, readable, and able to fit all the information on it. Our challenge was to come up with a more practical and appealing way to display each month’s events to the community, while still keeping it in poster form. 

 

Our target audience would be Brookings residents, SDSU students, and visitors. The hope is that they would see the poster, stop to read it, and ultimately attend one of the events listed on the calendar. A secondary benefit would also be for business owners and organizations to be informed about community happening as well.
